An interface in which the user can manipulate icons, windows, popdown menus, or other related constructs. A graphical user interface uses graphics such as a window, box, and menu to allow the user to communicate with the system. Allows users to move in and out of programs and manipulate their commands using a pointing device (usually a mouse). Synonymous with user interface.
